The SAM AirportVehicles extension replaces all default airport vehicles in X-Plane all over the world. You as a scenery author can paint our objects or even integrate your own object to be used in your custom scenery package.



Requirements

  • The enduser requires a purchase of AirportVehicles extension
  • You need to have implemented X-Plane Ground Routes in WED and placed corresponding vehicles
  • Download the MOD_FILES package here.



Custom repaints

  1. Create a custom repaint for a vehicle of your choice. You can find the paintkit for each object in the downloaded package SAM_AirportVehicles_MOD_FILES/objects/vehicletype
  2. Name your custom texture like the corresponding object + the suffix _ALB / _LIT / _NML. Accepted file formats are PNG and DDS
  3. Save the texture(s) to a path of your choice within your custom scenery. We propose to create a seperate folder for all SAM vehicles like sam_vehicles
  4. Copy the sam-vehicles.xml file from SAM_AirportVehicles_MOD_FILES/Example - Custom vehicle repaint into your main custom scenery directory and modify it to your needs


Custom vehicle objects

  1. Create a custom vehicle object and save it to a path of your choice within your custom scenery. We propose to create a seperate folder for all SAM vehicles like sam_vehicles
  2. Name your custom texture like the corresponding object + the suffix _ALB / _LIT / _NML. Accepted file formats are PNG and DDS
  3. Save the texture(s) to a path of your choice within your custom scenery. We propose to create a seperate folder for all SAM vehicles like sam_vehicles
  4. Copy the sam-vehicles.xml file from SAM_AirportVehicles_MOD_FILES/Example - Custom vehicle object into your main custom scenery directory and modify it to your needs
