Framework Setup

1.    Install latest SAM Base Plugin and GroundService extension

2.    Start X-Plane, load a flight, open SAM Main UI and on Base Plugin Settings page enable developer mode and debugging

3.    All configurations for your currently loaded aircraft will be done in the authoring tool now available in the Plugins->SAM menu dropdown

Configure Aircraft Doors

  1. In Authoring Tool navigate to Utils -> Configure aircraft doors
  2. Select a door from the dropdown to configure (LF= left forward, RF=right forward, C=cargo)

    1. Enter the dataref/command and the corresponding value
    2. Door delay will be triggered once the jetway/vehicle is docked

Configure Aircraft Fuel Tanks

  1. Open the .acf file in planemaker and locate all fuel tank entries
  2. Verify the tank loading flow
    1. Either you know which tank will be filled up first
    2. Or check the default loading flow i.e. by using Instructor Menu (hotkey „I“) and moving the total fuel slider
  3. In Authoring Tool navigate to Utils -> Configure aircraft fuel tanks
  4. Create the first logical tank group* by clicking Add sub-tank
  5. Add the first (outer left or right) tank by clicking Add sub-tank in the Logical tank group
  6. Make that new tank a functional tank
    1. Index = Tank number in planemaker – 1
    2. Capacity = tank capacity in planemaker * 0,45 (to convert from lbs to kg)
  7. Add the opposite tank to the same group (maybe even more
  8. Either add even more functional tanks to the first group (remember, they all get loaded together) or add another group (logical tank) by clicking Add sub-tank in the Root tank level
  9. Continue these steps until all tanks are set up correctly.

The A319 looks like this:

  • First logical tank group: outer wing tanks
  • Second logical tank group: inner wing tanks
  • Third logical tank group: center tank

 * all tanks in one group will be filled up at the same time. The first group will be filled up first
